The Ministry of Emergency Situations proposes to discuss amendments to the law ‘On the Transport of Dangerous Goods’. This is reported by BELTA with reference to the National Legal Internet Portal.

What will be changed?

The amendments are aimed at clarifying the current norms, taking into account the practice of application and development of legislation in the field of transport of dangerous goods.

The draft proposes:

• to introduce new terms and definitions, including: consignor, consignee, dangerous goods, carrier, accident, organisation of safe transportation, etc.;
• to specify the scope of the law;
• to clarify the responsibilities of all participants in the process of transportation of dangerous goods;
• to expand the powers of the Council of Ministers.

How to submit a proposal?

Public discussion is organised by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Everyone can leave comments and suggestions at the Legal Forum of Belarus from 21 April to 1 May.
