Tariffs for railway freight transportation increased from 28 March

From 28 March 2025, updated tariffs for freight transportation by public railway transport came into force. The changes were approved by a resolution of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART).

New tariffs: example of calculation

Thus, transportation of 10 tonnes of cargo for a distance from 51 to 60 km under tariff scheme No. I1 now costs 493.18 rubles. For comparison: the previous rate was 428.85 rubles.

The increase does not affect all categories

Adjustment of tariffs is also provided for other directions. However, the changes do not apply to transit traffic through the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Coefficients for carload consignments have been updated

In the same decree, MART clarified the coefficients used in the calculation of carriage charges for carload consignments:

  • For the carriage of wheat, corn and other cereals - coefficient 0.81
  • For sugar beet - 0.51.

When were tariffs raised for the last time?

The previous increase in railway freight rates took place in April 2024. The new changes came into effect on 28 March 2025.
