We were approached by a company that manufactures tubes for cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical products with a request to deliver an entire production line for manufacturing aluminium tubes from abroad. The cargo volume was 5 containers. Several obstacles stood in the way of the successful realisation of the task:

• Risks of inspections. If one container was inspected, all 5 would have to be removed. This would mean delays, additional costs and, possibly, disruption of production start-up.
• Documents. One invoice for 5 containers created difficulties in preparing shipping documents for railway transport. It was necessary to comply with all regulations, but at the same time take into account the customer's wishes.
• Storage. The client's warehouse was not ready yet, and the cargo had to be temporarily stored somewhere. At the railway station, storage rates could increase 5 times if the containers were not removed in time.
• Urgency. As soon as the warehouse was ready, the cargo had to be delivered there immediately, so as not to delay the start of production.

We realised that the client needed not just a carrier, but a partner who would take on all these complexities and offer a solution. And we found this solution.

First, we helped with the preparation of documents to comply with all the requirements of the railway station in China, but without splitting the invoice. Then we calculated the best route and container type to minimise costs and risks. We oversaw every stage, from loading and despatch to storage at the arrival station.

When the cargo arrived at the Kolyadichi station, we monitored the storage time so that the client did not overpay. And as soon as the storage was ready, we promptly organised the delivery of containers to the place, having coordinated the time with the client's rigging team.

What was the result?

• 25 days instead of possible delays: rail transport took only 25 days and all 5 containers arrived at the same time.
• No extra costs: we avoided inspections and unnecessary storage costs, despite higher tariffs at Kolyadichi station.
• Long-term co-operation: the customer was satisfied with our work, and now we are expecting orders for delivery of two more similar lines.
