Customs Clearance of International Cargo
Customs clearance is one of the most important stages in international cargo transportation. Customs clearance involves legal registration of all actions carried out during cargo transportation through customs office: from cargo introduction to customs to its completion.
Stages of Customs Clearance for Cargo
Customs clearance for cargo during international transportation includes five main stages:
- Inspection of goods and accompanying documentation.
- Placement of cargo in a temporary storage warehouse (TSW) or customs warehouse for complex transportation.
- Registration of the customs declaration, verification of HS codes (Harmonized System Codes).
