Blagoveshchensk (Amur Region) is planning to create a logistics hub for the delivery of cargo to China using drones. According to RBC, the project is at the development stage. Drones are supposed to be used for transportation of goods weighing up to 50 kg, and an experimental legal regime will be introduced to implement the initiative.
According to experts, the main advantage of drones is the ability to move quickly across the border without delays typical of motor transport. However, their payload capacity is still limited, and the need to build specialized infrastructure may require significant investments.
The main challenge is customs procedures
As Aeronet expert Nikolay Ryashin notes, the main obstacle remains bureaucracy at the border. Even if the drone overcomes the distance in a matter of minutes, its cargo may be stuck at the customs for several days. In this case, the project will not solve key logistical problems.
Analyzing perspectives
For the successful implementation of the initiative, it is important not only to test technologies, but also to think about a comprehensive solution:
- Optimize customs processes for unmanned transport.
- Creation of a cost-effective model capable of competing with motor transport.
- Integration of Russian and Chinese air legislation.
Thus, the project may become an important step in the development of international logistics, but its success depends on an integrated approach to legal, economic and technological aspects.
